Hello, Dear Friends,
After the solitude and the creating, after the despair and the elation that comes with writing a novel, after the editing and the marketing and the meetings comes this — book tour! This is the moment that, like Madeleine L’Engle talks about” “The work….creates a bridge where a reader and writer meet.” And I am so ready to cross that bridge and meet all of you and talk about The Story She Left Behind.
It all started with a cold case literary mystery, and now I’ll be packing up in March to come meet you, and tell you all the stories.
The Friends & Fiction family wants you to know that we are having a party in Atlanta with a Friends & Fiction LIVE event at the Atlanta History Center. I’ll be there along with Kristy Woodson Harvey, Kristin Harmel, Mary Kay Andrews and our Managing Director with the patience of a saint, Meg Walker, and our librarian co-host, Ron Block. This party is going to be on St. Patrick’s Day and there is no other place to celebrate the luck of the Irish.
I have some incredible in-conversation partners across the country, including Ariel Lawhon, Frances Mayes of Under the Tuscan Sun, Marybeth Mayhew Whalen, and Susan Crandall.
I’ve even got a brief stint on the west coast on this tour! On April 3, I’ll be at Vroman’s in Pasadena, California for an event with my audiobook narrator—the one and only Julia Whelan—followed by the Literary Women Festival of Authors in Long Beach, California.
There is so much to celebrate! This is a one month, 32-stop extravaganza and I really hope to see so many of you out on the road.
Find the details for all of my book tour stops — and all my other events — on the APPEARANCES page on my website!
A Gift for You!
Atria and I have put together a fabulous gift for my readers who pre-order The Story She Left Behind before its March 18th pub date.
We’ve made up a gorgeous digital flip-book travel journal that captures all the amazing pictures and stories from my research trip to London and to England’s Lake District during which I interviewed, toured, hiked, and immersed myself in the area and took loads of photos.
We’ve also made up beautiful specially designed library bookplates that allow you to label your copy of The Story She Left Behind as belonging only to you. This makes your copy into your own keepsake and helps ensure you’ll get your book back if loaned to a friend.
When you pre-order my forthcoming book in any format from any retailer and fill out the claim form, you’ll be e-mailed the travel journal and snail-mailed your own bookplate!
Other Events
Before heading out on book tour in March, I do have one other big event I hope you’ll consider attending!
Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 11am – Sunday, January 19, 2025 at 2pm — I’ll be together with Kristin Harmel and Kwame Alexander at the 20th Annual Wild Dunes Author Event & Weekend hosted by Mary Alice Monroe. Info & tickets HERE.
Always keep an eye on the EVENTS PAGE on my website for the latest news and visit the TOUR page on the Friends & Fiction website to see what fun group events we have planned together.
That’s all for now, my friends. More soon!
Love,
PCH
