Hoping you'll care to interview me re: my recently released book, Patti! Confessions of a Rock 'n' Roll Name-Dropper: My Life Leading Up to John Lennon's Last Interview is my memoir, the story of my rock radio-related early life and career wrapped around John Lennon’s final interview which I co-conducted for RKO Radio at the Dakota in New York back on December 8, 1980 mere hours before he was shot and killed. I also wrote the incredibly well-received RKO special that aired a mere 6 days after John’s assassination: John Lennon - The Man, The Memory, as well as RKO Presents The Beatles/The Beatles From Liverpool to Legend, and many more! My book's website: https://www.confessionsofarocknrollnamedropper.com/
Hi Patti, I hate that I missed you on this tour, but thanks for sharing all those wonderful happenings along the way. Made me smile big for you (and the readers/authors you were with)! Hopefully, I will see you sometime soon. I loved Flora Lea and the paperback edition is on my "staff picks" shelf at Page 158 Books in Wake Forest, NC. Come visit us one day!
What a whirlwind but wonderful book tour! Thanks so much for taking the time to share this with us, especially those of us who live far away from you. It was our way to travel with you.
What a lovely trip (and your wardrobe for it!)! It's a miracle you got your airpods and kindle back (and your shoes from Starbucks). 😍 I've almost finished the first draft of my first novel, so I pulled up your After Your First Draft article. When writing nonfiction, I've always tried to make the first draft as perfect as possible (even though, intellectually, I know better than to write and edit at once), but that's impossible with fiction. As much as it frustrated me for a while, I'm so eager to start the second draft now: I understand my characters since we've spent more time together. I also appreciate the comment about character language in fiction.
My husband and I finished The Gentleman recently and I agree—delightful! (Fun fact: I met Theo James years ago at a screening of the first Divergent movie.) I wanted to meet you and MKA at the December Atlanta Writers Club meeting but I had a conflict. Hope y'all can join us again!
Over a week ago, my cousin in Sussex called. She's been the last of our family in England to read your latest publication, and she adored it as much as the rest of us.
Beautiful tour pics, and so many friendly faces and powerful mini groups indeed.
Thanks for sharing your recent reads and likes. I've been feeling nostalgic for a re-read of The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay, so I've been marinated in Chabon's words. I've got Annie Lamott's newest on deck. To unwind in the evenings before bed, I always read about 30 minutes of poetry. Andrea Gibson, Cynthia Atkins, and Rita Dove have been keeping me company this week. Love em all.
Sending you lotza gratitude for penning such a slay masterpiece of historical fiction in Flora Lea! Mad props. It's sublime. Truly. All the best wishes from Colorado, Patti. ~ Steph 💙 📚 🌿 💦
OH MY GOODNESS how lovely to know there is someone in Sussex who loves it! Thanks for telling me! Yes, poetry before bed is a soothing practice that I need to remember.
Patti, Is there a chance you might add Houston, TX to your tour. We have a wonderful book store Blue Willow that is expanding. Also my Book Club Pine Forest CC would be honored to have you as a speaker and guest author.Looking forward to your next book.
I’m grateful that I first met you in Monroeville and then ran into you at the Alabama Writers Hall of Fame right as Covid was rearing its ugly head…and twice more after that with Sean of the South in B’ham and Monroeville again! I’m now caught up on ALL of your books as I patiently wait for the next! You inspired me to read the Chronicles of Narnia again but as an adult and listen to the beautiful recording as well. Patti, you are now one of my most favorite Southern authors. Thank you!
Watching your travels exhausts me. Your stamina amazes me. Thank you for all you do to support and encourage other writers.
Ah you know how it is! It's both invigorating and exhausting all mixed up together.
What an adventure! I am looking forward to your next book.
Thank you so much! I am working on it!
Please come visit us in Sun City Hilton Head-we miss you!!
Hello there in Sun City -- Love y'all so!
Your tour sounded amazing!

I’ve been following your FB posts. The last time I saw you, Fairhope, you had not decided on the next book. Curious to know!!!
Good luck with the wedding!
Ah, I'll be posting more and more about it in coming months!

Oh how I love the AWC! Thanks for your kind note -- the AirPods were the biggest miracle of them all!
